    • Denton Halloween is a month-long celebration filled with daily-themed events throughout October. Beyond Halloween activities, you'll find special food, drinks, and unique experiences that highlight what makes Denton extraordinary. Whether you're exploring our event lineup, savoring themed treats, or soaking in the spooky atmosphere, Denton Halloween offers something for everyone during all 31 days.

    • Right here on the Denton Halloween website! Visit our Plan Your Stay page and Events page to make your trip to Denton seamless and find fun things to do around town. When you arrive, head to our downtown visitor center, Discover Denton, for directions, recommendations, and information.

    • Yes! Since Denton's founding in 1857, many ghosts, spirits, and cryptids have made our spooky little city their home. You can learn more and visit these DFW haunted spots by checking out our interactive self-guided haunted tour.

EVENTS AND TO-DO

    • Yes! On our Events page, you can search for family friendly Halloween events in DFW by selecting the "Family Friendly" event filter. 

    • Free Halloween events in DFW can be found on our Events page by selecting the "Free" event filter.

    • Some Denton Halloween events may require registration. We highly recommend reaching out to the event host directly for questions about an event. Visit our Event List to see the event host’s website and learn more information. 

    • You can submit an event to our Event page's 31 Days of Denton Halloween calendar. The add event button is located on the left corner of the calendar on the web and in the menu on the right of the calendar on mobile.

FOOD AND DRINK TO-DO

    • Denton is home to a variety of culinary experiences catering to all taste. You can find a list of restaurants on our Discover Denton website, or find a Self Guided Food and Booze Tour page listing all of the local establishments with Halloween themed menu items on our Food and Drink page.

TRAVEL & TRIP PLANNING

    • Both paid and public parking options are available during Denton Halloween. For events on the square, detailed parking information, including free and paid options, is available on Denton Mainstreet’s website.. Businesses outside the square will offer their usual parking arrangements.

    • If you're visiting from out of town, several hotels offer special Denton Halloween discounts, including Best Western Premier Crown Chase Inn & Suites, Homewood Suites, and Hilton Garden Inn. For more details, visit the Plan Your Visit page on the Denton Halloween website. 

    • The weather in Denton is beautiful in October. The average high is around 75°F (24°C), and lows are in the 50s°F (10-15°C). The month is generally dry, with plenty of sunshine and occasional showers.

    • Downtown Denton, Texas, is compact and walkable, covering an area of approximately 1.5 square miles. Many of our Halloween activities are downtown, centering around the historic Denton County Courthouse on the Square. The area includes historic buildings, local businesses, restaurants, shops, and entertainment venues. 

    • Tired of walking? GoZone is an on-demand rideshare service in Denton County. Download the GoZone App to book a ride.

    • AIR: The closest major airport to Denton is Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW), about 30 miles away (35–45 minutes by car). From DFW, you can rent a car, take a rideshare, or use public transit by connecting to the DART Orange Line and transferring to the A-train, which stops in Downtown Denton. 

    • DRIVING: Driving from Dallas or Fort Worth is straightforward via I-35E or I-35W, with Denton about 40–45 minutes from both cities.

    • TRAIN: For train travel, the A-train (Denton County Transportation Authority) connects Denton to the DART Green Line in Carrollton, making it a convenient option for traveling to and from Dallas. If arriving by Amtrak, the nearest station is in Fort Worth, about 45 minutes away by car. Denton is well-connected and easy to reach, whether flying, taking the train, or driving.     • Yes! The Denton County Transit Authority (DCTA) provides busses, rideshare services, and a train line. You can purchase tickets and learn more on the DCTA website.

    • The 31 Days of Denton Halloween is a tourism initiative aimed at promoting the local economy and showcasing the unique culture of Denton. The City of Denton works hard to provide as many opportunities and promotional spaces as possible for our businesses to succeed, whether through our public event calendar, food and drink tours, merchandise and decor collaborations, and community engagement opportunities. With over half a million visitors in its first year, the success of Denton Halloween drives sales to all of our local businesses, particularly those that participate in the festivities.

    • Yes! The 31 Days of Denton Halloween hosts regular meetings with the public and local business owners to provide updates, brainstorm ideas, and gather community input. Contact us to learn more and receive updates on upcoming meetings.
