Local Costume Shop Provides Props to Garden of Villains

ree

“I would have gotten away with it if it hadn’t been for you meddling kids!” You might here this refrain at the new and improved Garden of Villains which features some of the most iconic cartoon villains from the past! With the help of creative magic from Rose Costumes of Denton, these mischievous characters have been brought to life with outfits that mirror their animated origins.

While you’re visiting your favorite villains, strike a pose with the Mystery Machine!  Parked right at the garden’s entrance, this fan-favorite van invites families to hop in for a fun photo op. But keep your eyes peeled… these villains are known for slipping away and stirring up trouble around Denton!  Using their amazing in-store inventory, Rose Costumes recreated the villains’ looks with uncanny accuracy. “It’s amazing how closely they matched the original cartoon designs using what they had on hand,” said Gary Packan of Parks and Recreation. For characters with especially unique wardrobes, the team even handcrafted a few pieces to complete the transformation.

Make sure to look up while you’re visiting the Garden to the 500 bats that are circling amongst the trees.  Painted by volunteers, these bats of various sizes and shapes are in cohoots with the villains.  Decorative lights illuminate the nighttime creatures and keep the park safe for everyone’s enjoyment.  The Garden of Villains is open to all and located between Denton City Hall and the Denton Civic Center.
