Big Top Tent Expands Programming for Day of the Dead Festivities

For years, the Cirque du Horror show has been a spine-tingling staple of Denton's Day of the Dead Festival, traditionally held on the last weekend of October, in the giant Big Top Tent. That tradition continues in 2025 with four thrilling performances. Tickets are available now at Day of the Dead Tickets.
This year, the Big Top Tent is stepping into the spotlight with an expanded entertainment lineup. “The Day of the Dead event purchased the tent this year, and with the growing popularity of the 31 Days of Halloween, it made sense to increase programming,” said David Pierce, composer of Cirque du Horror. “Our goal in the future is to host events in the tent every day throughout October.”
The newly released schedule on DentonHalloween.com includes:
A mesmerizing magic show
Live concerts
A rock opera
Screenings of The Rocky Horror Picture Show
And of course, the iconic Cirque du Horror
Thanks to a grant from the Texas Commission on the Arts, Denton’s Parks and Recreation Department is helping expand tent rentals and entertainment. “Last year, visitors told us they wanted more to do downtown,” said Dustin Sternbeck, Director of Communication. “The longer we keep them in Denton, the better it is for our local businesses.”
The Big Top Tent is located at 126 East Oak Street, on the east side of downtown Denton.
