HALLOWEEN ART WALK

Denton's first Halloween-themed chalk art competition gives artists of all ages an opportunity to be a part of Denton's 31 Days of Halloween. On Saturday, October 3, registered artists will have the opportunity from 8am-5pm to complete a Halloween-themed chalk artwork in one of 32 squares on W Pecan St. Once the art is complete, the art will be sealed on the pavement so visitors can view it and vote for their favorites until October 23. On October 28, winners of First, Second, and Third place will be announced and ribbons awarded. In addition, the First place winner will have their artwork featured on a sticker and postcard for 31 Days of Halloween 2027! Register for your square today - registration will close when all 32 spots are filled.

September 1, 2026 Online Registration Opens at 9 a.m. Registration will close once all 32 spaces have been filled.
October 3, 2026 W Pecan St Opens at 8 am for Artists. Artists should be completed with their work by 5 pm
October 4, 2026 Halloween Art Walk Voting Opens
October 23, 2026 Voting Closes
October 28, 2026 First, Second, and Third Place Winners Announced and Ribbons Awarded

Rules

Rules of Participation
Artwork must be original design and creation.
Artwork must be completed with chalk only. Artist to use own chalk; will not be provided.
Artwork must be appropriate for an all-age audience.
Artists have from 8 am to 5 pm on October 3rd to complete their artwork on W Pecan St.
Each spot is 7’x10’. Artists are not required to fill the whole space.
Registration is open to individuals, groups, and businesses.
Participants must be at least 16 years of age to register individually. Participants younger than 16 must be in a group with at least one adult 18 years of age or older.
Business names and/or artists’ handles can be included in the artwork.
